Church Centered Missions
Who we are
Church Centered Missions is a ministry of 9Marks dedicated to helping churches and missionaries build healthy churches around the world. Neither methodologies, nor unaccountable individuals, nor even missions agencies are the Bible’s ordained means for fulfilling the Great Commission. Churches are. So, we create books, podcasts, videos, and articles that cast a vision for missions centered around the local church.
Our Aim
There is a tension which exists in the missions’ landscape today. On the one hand, many are recovering a view of the centrality of the local church. On the other hand, methodologies that prioritize rapid movements maintain a firm grip on missionaries on the field. We advocate for the steady work of planting biblically healthy churches by the ordinary means of grace. This usually takes longer than other approaches but it builds churches that last. Churches that protect the gospel. Churches that raise up mature missionaries. Church Centered Missions exists to equip churches and missionaries for this great work.
Our Team
Jonathan Leeman
President
Jonathan serves as the President of Church Centered Missions, where he oversees all aspects of the ministry. He is also the author of almost twenty books and teaches at several seminaries. He earned his M.Div. from Southern Seminary and a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Wales. He lives with his wife and daughters in a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC, and serves as an elder at Cheverly Baptist Church.
Taylor Hartley
Editorial Director
Taylor serves as the Editorial Director for Church Centered Missions, where he oversees the creation of articles, book reviews, journals, and 9Marks books. He received his M.Div. from Southern Seminary and is working on his Th.M. from London Seminary. Taylor and his wife, Rachel, live in Washington, D.C. with their son, Bode, and are members of Capitol Hill Baptist Church.
Alberto Jaquez
Media Director
Alberto serves as the Media Director for Church Centered Missions, where he oversees all podcasts, videos, and special media projects. He and his wife, Elisabeth, have one daughter, Luna Mae. He lives in Washington, D.C., and serves as an elder at Capitol Hill Baptist Church.
Tyler Ardiles
Marketing and Engagement Manager
Tyler serves as the Marketing and Engagement Manager for Church Centered Missions. Tyler oversees CCM’s marketing campaigns. He moved to Washington, D.C. in 2024 and is a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church.
Jeri Choi
Community Manager
Jeri serves as the Community Manager for Church Centered Missions, where she promotes our resources and events on social media and engages with our online community. Jeri also does much of 9Marks’s graphic design. She lives in Maryland, with her husband, James, and their three children. They are members of New Covenant Baptist Church, where James is the senior pastor.
David Burnette
Managing Editor
David serves as the Managing Editor for Church Centered Missions, where he manages and edits articles, journals, and book reviews. He received his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southern Seminary. David and his wife, Becca, live in Birmingham, Alabama, with their three kids and are members of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
